Reading Centers

We worked hard today in our reading centers!!  We worked with nouns, did word work with our spelling words and answered questions about the story we read!  

Halloween

 Halloween 2018  

We are very excited to celebrate Halloween on Wednesday, October 31. We are planning many fun and exciting events for the day. Please read the following information.

Costumes

Please DO NOT send your child to school in their Halloween Costume. Send the costume in a brown paper bag labeled with their NAME. This is very important to ensure that all pieces of the costumes return home after the school activities.

Do not send in any toy weapons that may accompany your child’s costume. This is a Shaker Lane policy.

There will be parent volunteers in the classroom to help your children change into their costume.

Parade

The Shaker Lane Halloween Parade will take place at 2:00. The children will parade around the outside of the building. All are welcome at the parade. You may want to arrive a few minutes early as parking can be tight.  We hope to see you there!

Party

Our party will take place after the parade and community meeting! (Unfortunately, the community meeting & party are for students & room parents only, due to space limitations).

Spirit Day

To cheer on our Red Sox we will have Red Sox Spirit Day tomorrow 10/23.  Students are invited to wear their favorite Red Sox gear or any red, white and blue attire.

Please know that while we are a Boston sports team, we encourage our students to celebrate their favorite team.  We are an inclusive school that celebrates each child.
